Urban life and woods are my two main contrasting collections.
In the urban life collection I try to evoke the sensations of metropolises.
Sweeping skyscrapers, noise, cars, rushing crowds, and architectural might, images of pulsating human congregations evoke feelings of liveliness, anonymity, or even oppression.
About the painting beware!:
We meet thousands of people in our lives, and often their paths cross with ours only for a short moment. What lies beneath all those uniform façades? Dreams, talents, unfulfilled desires, dark secrets, aggression, unhappiness…
With this painting, among other things, I wish to picture the anonymity of cities. The people in the image all wear identical sunglasses, and are positioned only at the lower edge. This is done to give greater emphasis on the impressive architecture, which, in turn, makes the people below seem small and insignificant. The sunglasses are a kind of adaptation, in which individuals hide their identity.
